Being pregnant is hard enough, let alone being pregnant in summer when you can’t exactly bundle up under big, bulky layers. Looking polished while staying cool can be a challenge, especially when you don’t want to spend your baby’s college fund on a new maternity wardrobe. Plus, navigating transitional temps and air conditioned offices can be tricky, pregnant or not. Unfortunately, for me, I was heavily pregnant during the summers for both my pregnancies, so I had lots of practice putting together pregnancy outfits for summer.
The key to dressing a bump during summer imo is to lean into breezy, light dresses. I prefer to go for non-maternity dresses that I can wear after the baby arrives. I find dresses to be the most comfortable and easy when I’m pregnant, especially in summer when I’m out and about more. Even though the heat and sun can be rough, I find a benefit of being pregnant in the summer is that you really don’t have to invest in very many maternity clothes. Breezy sundresses are everywhere, and you can usually find a bunch that will accommodate a bump. I do also love a cute jumpsuit — though pro tip, make sure they are easy to unzip/get off because you will pee a million times.
My favorite pregnancy outfits for summer are always easy to throw on and comfortable. I opt for lighter fabrics that won’t stick to me if it’s hot, and that I can layer over a cardigan or jacket if I’m in a freezing office or restaurant. I tend to opt for feminine prints when pregnant, or at least during my last pregnancy — maybe because I feel extra feminine when I’m with child, lol. In addition to pretty dresses and the occasional jumpsuit, I usually round out my summer pregnancy outfits with a pair of maternity white jeans, a couple cute tees, a maternity suit, and maternity shorts. I find that’s all I need to get through everything from work to date night to playing with the kids outside.
If you’re expecting this summer or headed somewhere hot for vacation and in need of some warm-weather maternity style inspo, these are my favorite pregnancy outfits for summer.

Hi! I love these looks. I’m also a big fan of the non-maternity bump friendly styles. Do you mind sharing where you found the pink maxi and the orange maxi listed? Looking for some cute dresses to stay cool this summer during my pregnancy!

Hi thank you so much and of course. It’s Misa but it’s old, but maybe you could find it on sale someplace or on Real Real. I love it.
