Admittedly, my husband and I haven’t been the best about planning date nights, and Covid has only made that worse. Recently, we’ve gotten better about planning outdoor, socially-distanced get-togethers with friends we’ve been quarantining with, but I also want to make more of an effort to plan date nights for just the two of us. In fact, it’s one of my April goals. I’m trying to institute an every other weekend date night for just Andrew and I. Not only is it an excuse for us to get some much-needed one on one time without the kids, but it’s also an excuse to dress up. While I love nothing more than an excuse to dress up, I am realizing I am seriously lacking when it comes to date night outfits.
I have a ton of “work clothes” sitting in my closet languishing, many of which are dresses and skirts, but feel perhaps a little extra for date night for Mom and Dad. And then I have lots of casual weekend/chasing after the kids clothes — leggings, joggers, jeans, tees. But none of it really works for going out to eat with the hubs. I need more separates that I can use to put together cute date night outfits. It’s hard though, because when I start shopping, I end up always buying things I wear all the time, like leggings or work clothes, but then it’s time for date night or a dinner party with friends and I have nothing to wear.
If you’re always struggling to figure out what to wear for date nights, you’re definitely not alone. It’s one of the most common questions I get asked, and frankly, something I struggle with too. So by popular demand, here are my favorite date night outfits. Now you have your look squared away, book that date night and babysitter!
