Do you ever see something and have to have it? That’s how I felt about this camo jacket. I was going to wait for it to go on sale, but then it sold out in my size, and I just was so sad and couldn’t stop thinking about it. So I was thrilled when it returned in my size and scooped it up. Usually I save investments like this for more”classic” outfits but at this point, I think we can say camo is a neutral, the cut is classic, and the bow reall makes it stand out and fall in the category of something so special that I’ll be happy every time I wear it and it’ll be worth the splurge, like my diva coat, my favorite floral dress, and this colorful maxi dress. While investing in timeless pieces I’ll wear forever versus fast trends is definitely a smarter strategy I’ve taken as I’ve gotten older, it can feel boring and leave you with the same what to wear conundrum. For spring, I’m trying to buy fewer pieces but choose ones I really love – items I can’t stop thinking about and make me happy and feel awesome when I’m wearing. These tend to be the the pieces I get the most compliments on, which let’s be serious, reinforces the good feels. So while this jacket was a splurge and I do feel guilt pangs over the price tag, it makes me feel awesome and happy and I intend to wear it to death to get my money’s worth and so I think it’s well worth the investment even if it means I won’t be purchasing some of the other must-haves on my spring shopping list.
