Memorial Day Outfits for All Your Plans

Memorial Day Weekend will be here before we know it, and, I, for one, am counting down. Memorial Day weekend is one of my favorite long weekends of the year. Really, I look forward to it all winter long. Memorial Day weekend really marks the beginning of summer for me, and I love summer. Like really love. It’s by far my favorite season, and I am even more into summer now that I have kids. This Memorial Day weekend, we’ll likely split our time between enjoying the Memorial Day weekend festivities at home and heading to the lake for sailing, hiking, paddle boarding, barbecuing, and relaxing. We also have a friend’s party upstate, so we may take advantage of the long weekend to head up to Lake George (any recs?) or Lake Placid again. Even though we may only go away for part of the weekend, I’m still excited to get out of town and to enjoy a change of scenery. I’m already thinking of what I’m going to pack for the weekend, especially since I usually end up packing for everyone in my family so I never like to save it until the last minute. When it comes to Memorial Day outfits, I like to keep my look casual and comfy but I still want to look festive and cute.

Even though I’ve been living in leggings and sweatshirts on weekends recently (awaiting warmer weather!), I am planning to pack some cute Memorial Day outfits for the long weekend. I am actually finding that getting dressed in something cute helps me to motivate to make the day more fun and to feel more in control and more like myself. I also want to take some cute family pics, something I’ve been so bad about lately (anyone else find they’re just not taking as many pics of their kids these days?). Plus, you know I’m making the kids wear all the cute summer clothes I just ordered, so I can’t be looking like a shlep next to my well-dressed brood.
