Summer is flying by. I hate to say that because honestly, it’s only just begun, but also, it’s like already mid-July and I wish time would just slow down a bit. We are officially less than 8 weeks away from welcoming baby #2, so the countdown is on! We had talked about taking a babymoon earlier this spring, but then work and life got in the way, and we couldn’t make our schedules coordinate. We delayed the trip, hoping to get away early this summer. I really wanted to get away just the two of us and go somewhere far flung while we only had one kid to pawn off on our family and nanny, but Zika narrowed our choices and effectively put the kabosh on our hopes of finally visiting friends in Singapore. And just as I was plotting a trip to Hawaii or Europe, we decided to buy a place that needs a complete renovation before we can move in. Even though it has completely derailed our babymoon plans, I am so excited to finally live my Fixer Upper dreams, and share our journey with you. Long story short, here we are, less than two months away from baby #2’s arrival, and we still haven’t taken a babymoon. Even though we’re running out of time, I’m determined to spend at least a night alone just the two of us. Since Andrew’s birthday is coming up, I’m hoping we can combine a little birthday getaway and babymoon into one, and go away for a night or two somewhere fun that I won’t yet say so I can keep it a surprise (slash because I haven’t booked it yet… eeek). While I may not have our trip booked, I do have the perfect babymoon beach dress for it. Always good to be prepared, right?
Just because we haven’t lined up our babymoon quite yet, that minor detail, hasn’t stopped me from shopping for our babymoon. Better to be prepared, right? I snagged this babymoon beach dress on sale, and it’s the perfect beach dress to wear on a babymoon. You can throw it on over a bathing suit for the beach, or wear it with cute espadrilles for dinner. It’s roomy and lightweight and comfy, making it the ideal babymoon beach dress. But it really can work all summer long at the pool, beach or for daytime. I’ve been wearing as a coverup and I love that I can go right from the pool or beach to lunch, running errands, or even a bbq. Now, time to book our getaway. Any suggestions for where to go lol?
PS: How cute is Dakota? She really doesn’t get enough love on the blog. Should she start making regular appearances?
