Yes, I’m starting my holiday gift shopping extra early this year, starting with holiday gifts for the kids. With so much going on right now, I figure I can at least get my holiday shopping out of the way. Plus, I’m anticipating delayed shipping (because isn’t that just life now?) and as you know, I do not have time to shop in person very much/I just prefer to shop from the comfort of my laptop. Also, I plan to start playing the Santa card hard to inspire good behavior (anyone else need all the bribes right now?). I know a lot of you are also doing your holiday shopping now, and among the many requests were, what do I get a four year old boy for Christmas, so I thought I’d update this gift guide I put together when James was four.
Now that James is old enough to know how the whole Santa and Christmas thing works, it’s much more fun to gift shop for him. And for our kids, three/four was really the age when the kids started to really get into it. It’s also fun for me — I love thinking about how excited they’ll be to open the various toys and gifts I find while shopping. If you’re struggling to figure out what to get a four year old boy for Christmas (or any child or person, really), I like to just think about what will make them smile the most.
But if gift giving were that easy, we’d have no need for gift guides or wasting endless hours shopping. I find myself spending late night hours researching the most unique, educational, and impactful toys to figure out the best holiday toys to buy my kids. I don’t want a house full of toys that no one plays with, and I really want gifts that give back (to me that is) — meaning that they buy me pockets of time where I don’t have to entertain or educate my children because they are busy using their imaginations and brains with an educational toy that actually keeps them occupied. After spending hours reading the reviews, watching kids play with them on YouTube, researching toy roundups from parenting experts and bloggers, I’ve narrowed down this list to the best, most unique and educational holiday toys for four year old boys.So if you’re wondering what do I get a four year old boy for Christmas, check out my favorite gifts below. Let me know if there’s anything missing on my list — I’m hoping to have all my shopping done by the end of Thanksgiving weekend this year!
