When it came to buying baby toys, I didn’t really buy that many to start. So many people told me time and time again about all the toys they bought and how their kid just wanted to play with pots and pans. Plus, we had already been through that with the dog. Lucky for James, he has wonderful grandparents, aunts and uncles, older cousins, nanny, and friends who have gifted him some amazing toys, and okay, I admit I’ve been guilty of buying a bunch for James as well. I can’t help it. I feel guilty that his toy box is so empty and then I start to realize why people’s apartments/houses get overrun with baby toys. However, it hasn’t taken me long to realize that some toys are beloved and some not so much. It’s pretty much instantaneous which ones are loved and which ones no matter how many times I try to make them happen, just aren’t cool and will forever be a neglected waste of space and money. For our “highly active” baby, these have been his favorites the first year (besides of course our dog’s leash, our phones and the actual TV remote) and toys that were definitely worth the money.
