Our October is off to a busy but good start. I never thought of October as one of my favorite months of the year, but I’m starting to understand why people love it so much. The weather is this perfect cool temperature where you can wear sweaters without jackets and usually shed a layer by the afternoon. The leaves are changing and falling, the days are getting shorter but we’re not living in eternal quite yet, and there are so many fun fall activities to do, from apple picking to hayrides and pumpkin carving to trick or treating. I love that we can sleep with the windows open and the AC off, stocking up on Halloween candy and eating it all well before Halloween. There are lots of fun fall activities in our town and for our kids’ school, and of course, the anticipation of dressing up for Halloween is especially fun now that I have kids. It’s also this calm period before the stress of the holidays begins to kick in and you’re constantly trying to stay on top of all the to-dos. I still feel busier than ever, but not so overwhelmed that I am in that holiday survival mode where I don’t know if I’ll have time to shower let alone change into real clothes. So I’m taking advantage of the gorgeous weather and little bit of extra time in my mornings to get dressed. I got to whip out my favorite fall outfits this week, so I’m excited to share what I wore the third week of October 2021.
We are coming off a long weekend for the kids (though I had work on Monday). We went upstate and it was so nice to get away and be at the lake. We had friends up there with us who we haven’t see since right before the beginning of the pandemic, and it was so fun to watch all our kids play and to catch up. I love entertaining but I definitely felt exhausted heading back into the week, especially with the kids home on Monday and no childcare. Still, I loved having that extra day to spend with our family and take advantage of my new favorite month. This weekend, we’re attempting family photos and going to try to squeeze in some pumpkin carving and family fun between swimming, soccer, and skating (not sure how we’ll balance have activities for multiple kids!). But first, I’m going to enjoy my latte and finish up work so we can enjoy pizza and movie night and the weekend!
Here’s what I wore the third week of October 2021 aka my week in outfits.
