And that’s a wrap on July. I can’t believe we’re officially headed into August now. It’s scary really. This summer has flown by, and I’m not ready for fall and back to school and back to the office. I’m dreading it tbh. But I feel like I can’t live in a state of denial much longer. Summer used to feel so much longer (anyone else?). But it feels like school gets out and then you blink and it’s time to get ready for the new school year. It all feels too fast, especially with Charlotte starting preschool in the fall (what? she’s still a baby!) and James entering another grade. Honestly, it’s all too much for me. I am planning to take time off this month. I haven’t taken much time off this year and I am looking forward to really relaxing and hanging out with my family and maybe getting away one last time (or maybe more than once if I can persuade Andrew to go on some road trips), so you may see some more casual fashion happening on here, although I’m never not going to be a dress girl. Can’t take the girl out of… is how the saying goes, right? This week, I was definitely a dress girl, so not surprisingly, you’ll see a lot of those in my roundup of what I wore the last week of July 2021. I took a couple days off to prep for our trip and finish some projects at home and of course, take the kids to the pool and beach in the afternoon, so I basically lived in beach dresses and I’m not complaining. I love a breezy beach dress that you can wear as a cover up but can also work to run errands or do camp pickups and even jump on an emergency Zoom call.
We’re off to Charleston and Kiawah and I couldn’t be more excited. We’ve never been, and I’m thrilled to have some time off with my family and to check out a new place and celebrate my main man’s birthday. Please send any and all recs. And now I must attempt to pack, but first, here’s what I wore the last week of July 2021 aka my week in outfits.
Monday
Hill House Green Nap Dress; Gold Sandals
Tuesday
Lake Dress (from last year but similar here); White Sandals
