This is a bit of a special edition of What I Wore This Week, because this week, I’m sharing what I wore during our extended stay up at the lake house. It was chilly, and we spent a lot of time outdoors, so we dressed accordingly. It almost felt more like fall than summer but the beginning of summer is always kind of weird weather-wise, right? I thought it might be helpful to show you what I actually wear when we go upstate for a few days. I tend to pack lightly and wear the same pieces over and over again. I don’t want to stress too much about what I’m wearing, since I’m mostly in mom mode, we’re outside hiking and exploring a lot, and frankly, I just don’t want to spend a ton of time packing and unpacking. So you’ll see a lot of repeats for what I wore the first week in June 2021.
So yeah, my outfits were a bit boring and repetitive, but I think it’s helpful to see how I stretched a few pieces over several days when I was mostly with my family. The key is to bring just one or two pairs of shoes, versatile bottoms, and a couple tops that can be mixed and matched. In this case, I ended up wearing the same sweater over and over because it was colder than expected and I usually only bring one bulkier item, especially in summer. I stuck with casual comfy pants during the days (jeans, joggers, a new favorite drawstring day pant) and brought a couple nicer pieces to wear at night. Hope this one’s not too boring for you, but I feel like it’s kind of nice to see how people rewear items in their closets, especially when traveling and trying to pack lightly. Hopefully, it helps as you’re packing up for some trips this summer (yay for things opening up!).
Here’s what I wore the first week in June 2021 aka my week in outfits.
