If you haven’t been following along on my Instagram, we just got back from five glorious days in the Bahamas with my husband’s family. We had considered going to the Bahamas for a babymoon/anniversary trip last March and then life threw us a million curveballs and it never happened, so it was fun to get away as family before #2 arrives. I was a little worried about it being too hot or rainy, but the weather was pretty perfect almost the entire time we were there, so we got to spend tons of time at the pool and beach with James and his cousins, and I got to make good use of all the vacation outfits I packed.
Days were spent mostly at the pool or beach (or swimming with dolphins, which James LOVED), so I mostly stuck to a bathing suit and cover-up during the daytime. I packed two maternity suits (this under $35 one and this gorgeous under $50 option) and they were perfect for chasing James around the water slides and beach. I had a few old beach dresses I brought to throw on top of my suit to go straight from the beach to lunch, but I also packed a few tunics and nabbed this beach dress for under $30 before we left. I threw in a few pairs of shorts and tees, which I was glad to have for breakfasts and afternoon activities like visiting the on-site aquarium.
We went out for dinner every night, so I packed a lot of fun dresses and accessories. At this stage in my pregnancy, roomy maxi dresses are the most comfortable and fit the best, so I basically lived in them, even on the plane. I love how easily they dress up or down, and they’re throw on and go, which was very necessary when we were running from the pool to grab a quick shower, get a defiant toddler dressed, and head to dinner.
