I LOVE the holidays — have I mentioned that? Legit, I’m obsessed. I blame my mom. She always went to town for the fall/winter holidays, whether it was cooking up an elaborate Thanksgiving feast with more food than a small country could consume and a fun tablescape with festive gords, candles, and special Thanksgiving china, or transforming our entire house into a winter wonderland for Christmas, complete with a ten-foot tree. Anyway, you could say it runs in the family. Even though I’m not a huge fan of Thanksgiving food (unpopular opinion but turkey and stuffing is not what I dream all year about eating) or watching football after gorging yourself on turkey, I still love any excuse to dress up and get together and celebrate. While we typically don’t host Thanksgiving ourselves (though I hope one day soon to take on the holiday), this year, who knows what late November will bring? After living through a pandemic, I’m not counting on anything actually happening until it happens. Plus, now that we’re in a new home, I cannot wait to start hosting… you know, once we have some furniture. So in anticipation of one day hosting our own turkey dinner, I’m starting to gather Thanksgiving tablescape ideas. Plus, I just love looking at beautiful table settings tbh.
A cook I am not, so when entertaining, I prefer to focus on the tablescape and decor, and then cater the actual food. Why stress over whether the turkey and stuffing are edible when I can be thinking about fall flower arrangements and the perfect linen and china combo that will create an elegant Thanksgiving tablescape? Plus, ever since I worked for a wedding magazine years ago, I just really love perusing beautiful tablescape ideas and trying to recreate them myself. If you’re planning to host Thanksgiving this year (or a fun Friendsgiving), or just love beautiful tablescapes, get inspired by these gorgeous Thanksgiving tablescape ideas. And here are Thanksgiving outfit ideas for women and for the kids.
