I’m still trying to figure out how to get James changed, fed, dressed, and cuddled, walk the dog, answer all the morning work emails, and get showered and ready and out the door in the mornings. It’s SO much. I always wondered how working moms do it, and I’m still wondering. Shit, I’m not even sure how non-moms do it. I had enough trouble getting out the door and looking somewhat decent pre-baby. The hardest part for me is that I want to spend as much QT as possible with my little one before I head out the door (I still miss him soooo much — does it ever get easier?) I know in theory, dresses are the throw-on-and-go answer, but honestly, who feels like wearing dresses all the time? Plus, there’s the challenge of cold weather, and once you add in tights, booties, maybe a turtleneck under and a jacket on top, it’s no longer so throw on a go. For fall, I”m thinking my solution is going to be jeans and a statement top. It’s so easy. When the weather is warmer, add sandals; for work meetings, add heels; for cold weather, toss on boots; for days you just can’t, add sneakers or cute flats. The nice thing about a statement top versus dress is that you can wear it with other things in your closet — black pants, white jeans, skirts, etc.. This Robert Rodriguez floral blouse is one of my favorite tops because it goes from office to out (you know, on those few occasions I do leave the house.)
