I am all about breaking the fashion rules, especially the whole no wearing white jeans after Labor Day one. Frankly, I”m surprised people even mention it anymore, but I get so many questions asking if it’s okay to wear white jeans after Labor Day. My answer is always yes, one thousand percent yes. White is always chic, and as I’ve said a million times before, it’s even chicer in fall and winter. Yet, anytime I wear white jeans after Labor Day, someone always comments about how I’m breaking the fashion rules. But rules were meant to be broken, no?
It’s been so hot still that I’ve given up on embracing fall and I’m back to dressing for summer, because it friggin’ feels like July with 90 degree temps and humidity. One of my favorite weekend looks is to just throw on my favorite pair of white jeans and a statement top. Ruffles pretty much make any top a statement top, and this one is my new favorite. Honestly, I’d wear this outfit to the office with heels, or same for a night out, but it works just as well for a birthday party or brunch with flats. Once it gets a bit cooler, I’ll probably ditch the sandals and go with a bit darker of a top or a sweater to transition my white jeans into the next season. Admittedly, this is a pretty summery look. But when it feels like summer and it’s close enough to summer, I think it’s fine to go with something like this. Also, PS: these are the best white jeans I’ve bought in a long time. I love that they’re more of a mom jean style so not skinny or too tight but have a great structure and fraying at the hems.
