When it’s slushy and snowy, heavy-duty, treaded, waterproof boots are the only option. Whether you plan to change into heels the moment you arrive at the office (if you’re going in these days), or will be running around all day in your snow boots, you don’t have to let snow day footwear cramp your style. I love pairing snow boots with jeans and a chunky sweater and parka for a casual weekend or school drop off look. I’ll swap in black leggings (these are the best) for jeans if I’m feeling something with more edge or just need some stretchy pants. To dress up a casual snow boot outfit, I love white jeans and a cream or ivory sweater. It’s a perfect chic winter white outfit that’s still snow day appropriate. Those are my favorite ideas for how to wear snow boots, but of course, you can also get creative and pair with a skirt or dress. Just add tights and if it’s snowing, no one will judge. It’s how you’ll find me when commuting or going to an event on snow days because you know I’m not ruining my favorite heels and nice boots with slushy salty snow.
Winter will be in full force before we know it and snow boots sell out fast, so now’s the time to invest in some good waterproof footwear that will keep your feet dry in the snow and slush. Best of all, there are lots of sales happening in the coming weeks, so it’s the perfect time to buy (though personally I’m a huge fan of buying winter boots and coats in June/July when they’re on crazy sale but inventory is very limited and hit or miss so you have to deal with the hunt). I love Sorel boots for a nice waterproof, classic and versatile option, but fur lined boots like Uggs will always be a go-to in my wardrobe. I don’t care how often they go in and out of style, if I have an option to wrap my feet in fur in the dead of winter, I’m going to do that. I also love options from No. 6, Moon Boots, Hunter and even Target if you’re looking for a waterproof boot that’s also stylish and doesn’t scream “snow boot”.
