30 Street Style Looks From Paris Couture Fashion Week That Will Inspire You To Step Up Your Style

by krismkoch

With so many fashion weeks these days, it can feel like they all blur together. But my fave set of shows is always the couture ones in Paris each summer. It’s not just because of the dreamy, totally impractical but exactly what dreams are made of gowns that waltz down the runways. It’s because of the next-level street style. It’s like everything is taken up a notch to this dreamy, impossibly chic and fashionable world that any fashion-obsessed girl wishes she lived in. The street style is beyond chic — ten steps above what you see at regular old fashion week and the kind of inspired dressing that you expect to see in movies, not on the streets. Which is why, practical or not, I can’t get enough of the street style at Paris Couture Fashion Week each year, and 2016 is no different.

There were only two Paris fashion week looks I did not find utterly ridiculous: the sundress and the sleeveless striped cardigan on top of a button down shirt with jeans. Two classic looks that retain their sense of style because they are in fact classics. Following the silly trends of what is “in fashion” leads to buying over priced garments that soon end up as useless rags on the closet floor. Please give us more tips that harness the durability of classic limes and pairings. For example, the series on mixing dresses with pants captured the time honored traditions of clothing styles from India and the Middle East: Long tunics with splits on the side worn over a coordinating pair of trousers. Styles become classic because they sense in terms of comfort of practicality while at the same time providing a sharp silhouette. Silly just doesn’t do it.
