Wedding season is in full swing, and that means lots of invitations to engagement parties and bridal showers, in addition to the actual nuptials. And that, of course, means you’ll need lots of outfits. While bridal showers aren’t typically as fancy as weddings and engagement parties, they still typically require you to dress up. Falling more in line of “ladylike” attire, I typically opt for a dress, suit, or pants and nice jacket for a bridal shower. In fall and winter, I’ll sometimes go for a black dress, but in general, I like to go for a bit of color for a shower. For the most part, you can have fun with colors and prints, but as with pretty much any wedding-related event, never wear white unless specifically instructed by the bride. It’s not just for the wedding that the rule applies. It’s basically just don’t match or upstage the bride. Trust me, it’s better for everybody. Brides be sensitive.
When deciding what to wear to a bridal shower, a pretty dress usually will suffice but for some reason getting dressed for wedding-related occasions still can be stressful. I get it. I usually wonder what I’m going to wear the second I open an invitation. I rounded up some of my favorite options for what to wear to a bridal shower — a mix of skirt sets, dresses, and jackets that can be paired with nice pants or even white jeans for a more casual affair. And if you’re heading to nuptials, here’s my guide for what to wear to a summer wedding, fall wedding, winter wedding and spring wedding.
