Wrapping up my first full week back at work — four days of which the hubs was out of town for work, no less — and I’m exhausted. Last weekend I was still coming off the high of thinking I was super mom/wonder working woman and we did a day trip to the burbs to visit my in-laws. But this weekend, I’m realizing I’m more like tired/spit-up-on mom who just wants to get her baby to stick to his sleep schedule so she can nap. So in other words, I’ll be living in sweats and leggings. But because it gets claustrophobic to stay holed up in your apartment when you’re up at the crack of dawn (versus the old 10am-12pm wake up that used to be my weekend schedule), I’m also going to attempt a few meals out between walks with the dog and baby, if only to show off my new casual loose fit Frame jeans I’m obsessed with. But before we head into the weekend, I’m sharing what to wear the last weekend of January 2017.
This weekend, it’s still going to be cold and we’re still in the gloomy days of January, so I’m all about an outfit that’s comfortable but a step-up from leggings and sweats, because I find if I dress to casual I lose all motivation to do anything on weekends. Anyone else feel that way? My outfit inspo for this weekend therefore, is one of my favorite outfits of all time that haunts me on Pinterest repeatedly. It’s so simple and yet so chic: a black turtleneck, boyfriend jeans with a slight cuff and a pair of fabulous loafers. It’s so easy and yet so freaking chic and really, that’s what I want my style to be. I think the jeans really make the outfit but so do the proportions and just the effortless, quiet luxury chic of it all. Regardless of your plans, here’s how to look comfy and chic all weekend long aka what to wear the last weekend of January 2017.

LLove the black turtleneck sweater… where did you get it?

I love H&M’s turtleneck sweaters. Everlane has similar styles, but I find H&M is the best fit. I usually size up to a medium for a slightly boxier fit.
