I know Valentine’s Day gets a bad rap as a cheesy Hallmark holiday, but after Christmas and New Year’s, Valentine’s Day is one of the few excuses to get festive during winter’s darkest days. I mean, really there’s no other festive holiday that calls for decorations and fun surprises until Easter. And after years of lockdowns and sad celebrations, we need any reason we can get to celebrate, right? Valentine’s Day is also an excuse for date night in our house, which sadly, we haven’t been great about these days (it’s so hard, right?). Even though we may not go out this year, depending on the sitter sit (anyone want to watch our kids?), I still plan to get out of my sweats and get dressed to make what will likely end up being February 14th takeout feel a bit more special. Hopefully, you plan ahead better than we do and have some fun plans for Valentine’s Day that involve getting out of the house and eating a grown up meal, so I thought I’d share some cute Valentine’s Day outfit ideas (and here are Valentine’s gifts for the kids and hubs if you are starting to shop.)
I like to look a little festive on February, but I also don’t want to look cheesy in head-to-toe red and pink. (I also don’t own very much red or pink). I know some of us prefer to keep it cozy at home with takeout and a favorite Netflix show, especially given that Valentine’s Day falls on a weekday this year and it’s just a lot to get done. So I rounded up a mix of Valentine’s Day outfit options, regardless if you’re using February 14th as an excuse to dress up, or you’e keeping it casual at home.
Whether you’re going low-key or planning something a little more special, if you’re looking for help getting dressed, here’s a mix of Valentine Day’s outfit ideas.
