When it comes to work dresses, I’ve been gravitating toward printed midi dresses. I wore a lot of neutral dresses when pregnant, so I think I’m excited to break out prints again, and I like that they make a statement. I feel like if I’m going to spend money on a dress, I want it to make a statement. And midi lengths just feel so sophisticated to me but also show off your shoes. I don’t know, I’m just feeling them. I also find the silhouette really flattering and lengthening.
I was worried that this tiered Cynthia Rowley dress would be a little too Little House on the Prairie with its tiered ruffles, but the red leopard print gives it enough edge that I think it really works. In a floral print, it might have felt too frilly for me. I paired the dress with grey boots to tone it down and give it a slight contrast. The stacked heel made the look a little more casual for work, but a stiletto heel would make this look work for a dressier day or a party.
