I’m not a big beauty person. I mean I work in fashion and beauty, have been a fashion and beauty editor for years and love looking at the newest lip colors and palettes, watching hair tutorials and following the newest makeup trends. I just don’t have the skills or patience, and especially now that I’m a mom, time to do them myself. With that said, I have found a few life-changing beauty products and hacks that save me in the morning and that I always get questions about from colleagues, friends etc. I’m sharing my first can’t-live-without, life-changing product. Let me know if you want more of these types of posts. From years of working in beauty and fashion and on sets, I have tons of insider secrets and my own tried and tested, busy mom ones to share, and today I want to share the best self tanner for pale skin.
I don’t like to wear a lot of makeup. In fact, I try to wear the bare minimum. I have this fear that the more I wear, the more reliant on it I’ll become and I won’t be able to go out of the house without it. I am also lazy, always running late in the mornings with a curious toddler who likes to get into everything while I do my makeup. And, having growing up with bad acne that honestly I still suffer from though to a lesser degree (wtf? Why do I still break out?!), I especially don’t like to wear a lot of face makeup. It just makes me feel like my pores are clogging even if it’s oil free etc..
However, I look at people with gorgeous, perfect skin and pretty glows, especially all the bloggers I love following, and I get seriously jealous and vow to myself to start wearing more makeup but then I don’t. I’ve found a compromise though. These Dr. Dennis Gross glow pads not only exfoliate and help to turn over younger skin, but they are like a facial meets a tan towel in one. They leave you with a gorgeous glow and I find I don’t need to wear anything more on my skin except for a swipe of blush or bronzer when I use these on the reg. They’re really the best self tanner for pale skin. I generally use once a week but if I have a special event or just look like poo, I might double down. I rarely find products that I’m like that truly change how I look, but this is one that really does. Every time I use, people tell me I’m glowing and look really pretty or healthy but they can’t quite pin why/what’s different, which is exactly what I’m going for. Now I will warn you that if you apply too much, they’ll tell you you look tan and ask if you went somewhere over the weekend. My goal is usually to be more subtle, but if you’re like me and avoid the sun like the plague even on vacation, it can be a nice way to look like you went somewhere even if you hid under an umbrella the whole time. They’re not cheap but they’re worth every penny and one pack can definitely last you awhile.
Let me know if you want me to do more of these and if you have any life changing beauty products or tricks.
