I’m getting sick of my leather moto jacket. There I said it. I mean I wear it to death, so I’m allowed to take a break, right? And as much as I rely on my rotation of black blazers, those started to feel tired a long time ago. I actually prefer the comfort of a neutral cardigan, so I’m embracing the return of the sweater jacket, as a cozy blazer alternative. But when I want something a little less cozy, and a little more chic, I’m loving the latest reimagining of the baseball jacket. While sporty isn’t usually my style, in silky fabrics or interesting textures and sleek shades, the look isn’t too far in the outfield for less sporty types. (Like my failed attempt at a baseball analogy? My husband would be so proud. Not really, but I tried.) Pair it with an office-ready LBD or black work trousers to give a tired office look a cool but still appropriate refresh, or balance feminine florals with the sporty-meets-stylish topper. Either way, it’s a homerun (that one worked better, right? Too cliche?).
