I never thought I was a denim dress girl until I found this Ulla Johnson dress with puff sleeves. I love the silhouette and it’s so easy to throw on with cute sandals or wedges in the summertime. I’ve also paired it with booties and a turtleneck for fall and worn it nine months pregnant. It’s that versatile. I think I used to be afraid of this trend, because I didn’t know how to style a denim dress. I think I was afraid it could read too cow girl or ’90s Gap model.

If I’m trying to dress up a bit more, I’ll throw on a pair of espadrilles. I actually styled this denim dress for fall by adding a turtleneck underneath and tall boots. It’s also cute with a jacket on top and ankle boots. The options are pretty endless when you’re working with denim.
With that said, I prefer to find a denim dress with some fun details to it. It makes it feel a little less basic and makes it easier to dress up. Puff sleeves and ruffles are my thing right now, so I love this dress, but you can also go for cool buttons or a fun silhouette. Meghan Markle wore a chic belted denim dress to one of Harry’s polo matches way back when that I loved and would work for the office too.
